Description
Mini succulents are in the cacti plant family, with fleshy, water-storing stems/leaves which enable them to use water very efficiently. That means they're low maintenance and hard to kill, even if you forget to water.
How to grow Succulents mini.
How to keep my succulents small? By growing your succulents in small pots and placing them in a cool and dry environment, they will stay fresh longer! Watering them less often and placing them in indirect sun will also help keep the plants small and healthy.
How to care Succulents mini.
1. Choose your small succulents:
Choose a variety of small succulents that you like. There are different shapes, colors and sizes available, feel free to mix and match.
2. Choose a container:
Choose a small bowl or pot with a drainage hole in the bottom to prevent waterlogging from causing root rot. Placing a layer of small rocks or gravel in the bottom of each container improves drainage and prevents water from pooling at the bottom.
3. Soil:
Pour a well-draining succulent soil mixture into each container, leaving a gap at the top for the succulent plants.
4. Planting:
Gently remove the small succulents from their nursery pots. If the roots are tight, you can gently loosen them up a bit. Make a small hole in the soil with your finger or a small tool and place the succulent in the hole. Lightly pat the soil around the base of the plant to keep the soil in place.
5. Decoration (Optional):
You can add a layer of decorative sand, figurines or decorative stones on the ground to create an eye-catching accent.
6. Location:
Place your small succulents in a location where they will receive bright, indirect sunlight. If you grow them indoors, consider placing them near a window that gets filtered sunlight. If you are using artificial grow lights, make sure they are turned on for about 12-14 hours a day.
7. Watering:
Mini succulents have a small root system and do not require much water. Water the plant when the top of the soil feels dry. Be sure not to let the plant sit in standing water, as this can lead to root rot. Use a watering can with a narrow hose to direct water to the base of the plant.
8. Maintenance:
Every few weeks, check the plant for any dead or dry leaves and gently remove them. This helps keep the plant healthy and prevents pests and diseases.
9. Growing Conditions:
Monitor your mini succulents for signs of growth and health. If they start to outgrow the containers, you might consider transplanting them into slightly larger pots. Now enjoy your achievement and give it to your friends.
